Let's do some writing! Being able to effectively communicate your message will set you apart from others. Each week we will begin with a 10 minute writing plunge to get your creative juices flowing. Don't worry, these will be not be critiqued.
We will begin our nine-week program with a short review of the tools we have available: words, sentences, and paragraphs, as well as techniques we can use to make our writing more interesting.
We will then follow the writing process step by step, to produce compositions in various styles such as opinion, persuasive, basic summary, personal narrative, and more. The number and length of compositions may vary based on each student's abilities and pacing. A portfolio of student's work will collected throughout the class. Weekly homework assignments will be given. |
