Writing is one of the most important skills your child will ever learn. Many students resist writing full-page compositions because they aren’t yet confident in how to write an interesting sentence or a proper paragraph. One learns the craft of writing by first learning how to use their basic tools, then by mastering the techniques, and finally by lots of practice.
In this class, we will start with understanding the “tools” of writing: words, sentences, and paragraphs. Once students are comfortable with their basic toolbox, we will explore different techniques to make our writing more interesting. We will progress to practicing a variety of compositions encouraging students to experiment with their own style and personality. We want students to feel comfortable in this class. This is the place to learn and practice. Weekly homework assignments will be given. |
