Did you know that to many people, the fear of speaking in public is worse than the fear of dying?! Providing a way for our children to learn how to communicate publicly is a gift they will thank us for in later years!
In this course, students will learn: how to feel comfortable in front of a group, common speech mistakes and distractions, and how to craft an interesting speech that feels comfortable to give. Public speaking is a skill that is useful in every occupation, and opportunities are greater for those who are confident in front of a group.
This class satisfies the high school speech requirement, and does involve homework. Students will present their speeches during the last class. Students completing the entire course will receive a certificate of participation.
